Manchester United look set to miss out on Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches. 

The Portuguese ace has been linked with a move to Old Trafford to hook up with compatriot Jose Mourinho, who confirmed yesterday that he was in the market for a midfielder. 

He was heralded as a future star after his performances at Euro 2016 and Bayern snapped him up for £27.5million - however he has failed to make an impact in Germany and is free to leave.  

Renato Sanches played for Bayern in their victory over Chelsea on Tuesday but that could be his last game for the club as he closes in on a move to AC Milan
