Manchester United hope to wrap up the transfer of Antoine Griezmann next month in a deal which would cost £85million.
Jose
Mourinho will have been buoyed by news that the striker has told
Atletico Madrid that it is his intention to leave Spain this summer as
United look to finalise transfer business early.
Talk has swirled for weeks, often emanating from the player himself, and
Sportsmail takes a look at the key players in the deal.

Antoine Griezmann
The
Frenchman has not been shy in talking about a potential move in recent
weeks. From 'ready to go' to there being a 'six out of 10' chance of
moving, Griezmann has not ducked questions.
It
was therefore striking that Atletico's star man delivered a tweet
claiming that 'the rumours are unfounded' — despite openly speaking
about them himself. It can be presumed his club put a little bit of
pressure on him to quell speculation.
Court of Arbitration
Atletico
will find out on Thursday if their appeal on a FIFA transfer ban,
imposed after breaching rules over signing foreign players under 18, is
successful or not.
If CAS throw that
out then Atletico's hands are tied this summer — and the club will
attempt to convince Griezmann to stay another season.
'We
hope they lift (the ban) and we can sign this summer,' president
Enrique Cerezo said earlier this year. 'We had the same problem as Real
Madrid. If they have lifted it from them, why wouldn't they lift it from
us?'
Griezmann's entourage
The
26-year-old broke from his agency after not renewing with Grupo Santos.
In a literal sense that means he's going it alone but effectively
Griezmann is leaning on his father, Alain, and mentor Eric Olhats.
He
works with 4Success, a sport consultancy business who deal primarily
with the image rights of their talent. They will be expected to play a
key role in any contract discussions.
